In Case of Fire

For the past week it's been non stop chain saws and commercial tree shredding going on next door.  I can understand things have to get done before it snows. One of the downsides to living in a  ski resort town.
Henk and I took a walk over to see the heavy tree trimming equipment because this is what they read about in their story books but rarely ever get to see in person. There's a huge push to get the trees thinned out and all the pine needles rakes up. I realized there's no under growth by any of the houses or golf course and nice clear paths through the trees. With all the wild fires that have happened in California, home owners are asked to create a fire break and enough space for fire trucks to get through. This area is being very proactive (I can only guess) in the case of a wild fire.
