Framed Batik Tjaps

At the auction on Saturday I made phone bids on two "lots" of copper batik tjaps.  In one of the lots, there were four that were set into wood and made to hang on the wall.  I know it must have taken a lot of patience to cut the wood but I can't help but think of all the background designs that were destroyed.
