Sheep card 2018

I was inspired to make this card for my friends at Stonewater Arts who weave the most amazing things. They do everything except raise the sheep. They take the raw wool from start to finish, having much more patience than I will every have! 
It's always great after a really bad week at work, to have some down time and create something positive. This card idea has been floating around in your head for awhile. The card turned out just the way I wanted it to and now on it's way to the gals at Stonewater Arts!

FabMo Workshop 4-15-18 Kimono Background

I will be doing another workshop at FabMo's new site, which is amazing!  Tons of space to move around and plenty of natural light! I decided to make back grounds for my kimono die. Watercolor, Washi paper, patchwork and wallpaper. 
I have tons of this very textured wall paper that I picked up at FabMo, works super for back grounds. The ribbons and gold trims also came from FabMo notions department. Never know what your going to find there! Workshop Sunday (my only day off) 4-15-18 from 10:00 - noon. Send me an email if your going to attend. :)

So I did finish these cards last week but it does take me awhile to post them on my blog. I sat at my crafting table until I had at least parts of each stamp image done. Sorry of the dark lighting but I finished right before bedtime and didn't want to get out all my photo lights. Simple and basic type of cards but still enjoyed the quiet time in my creative space. :) I haven't heat embossed for a long long time, but the kindness card needed something. Thankfully I used my Misti to stamp it so it was easy to stamp VersaMark over the image to add clear embossing powder.

I'm really trying to use all the things I picked up at the use rubber stamp sale. These 3 stamps are up next for me to do something with. The elephant stamp wasn't something I picked myself, it fell into my box (so it picked me) but I thought I would still buy it and try to do something with it. Everything is still in the design stages but I hope to get some cards done by the end of the week. 

Washi Paper Card and Whale Quilt 2018

With the weather finally getting warm enough to work out in the yard it's always a tough call what I should do on my only day off. Being outside give Annie more play time while I pull weeds but I do want to go through my purchases from the last used rubber stamp sale. I did want to make a special thank you card for a good friend who made an amazing quilt for another friend of mine's first grand baby. The photo of the quilt really doesn't show the true size or workmanship, but it's awesome! 

Birthday Gifts 2018

Last month was my birthday and I received some very thoughtful gifts. My daughter (who went to Hungary for Christmas) brought this tea mug back for me. For my birthday she got some tea, which she knew I would love. Another friend gave me a tea towel from Italy. I don't use paper towels so it's a perfect fit for me!

My goal for everything I buy at the used rubber stamp sale, is to use what I get before the next sale. This year was an especially good haul, so I will be very busy!
I picked up these two dies and pink card stock, so I'm off to a good start!  Several months ago I made a stack of backgrounds using my watercolors. I finally found a projects to use them up! This card will be my Easter cards to my crafty friends. :)

Used Rubber Stamp Haul - 2018

My favorite event of the year is Cranberry Hill's used rubber stamp sale. It's this weekend and I stock up on some super cool stuff. There are so many new releases, it would break my bank account if I got everything when it's first comes out. So I've learned if I wait a few years, what I want will come to the used stamp sale. In my next post I will show some of the stamps and or products I've been waiting for. 

Quilted Kimono Card 2018

I've been cleaning up my project boxes which always seems like an endless crafter's task. I put together a kimono die cut and a quilted washi paper background. The background just fit the die cut so I guess it was just meant to go together. Great way to use up all those scraps you just can't throw away. :)

I have a super good friend who makes some amazing quilts. I asked Patty if she could make a whale quilt for another good friend who just welcomed her first grand baby. I wanted a ocean theme because that is what we have in common. It turned out so awesome!

Bead Cards 2018

FabMo Workshop March 18, 2018 

I've done these cards for a class before but I think it's a good one to repeat. The beading is very simple but it really makes the card pop. Finding the seed beads in the right colors is getting to be a challenge. Back in the day there were 4 bead shops in my area. With the new Apple campus going in, retail rents have got through the roof for most mom and pop stores in my area. : (
I use pony bead patterns, which are very easy to follow. 

Happy Birthday Cards 2018

I've been looking for a German Shepherd stamp for a long time. Most of the dog stamps out there, are cute little dogs.  At Cranberry Hill's last used rubber stamp sale, I finally found a stamp set "Gone to the Dogs". It's an old set, no longer available but I think it's a My Favorite Things stamp. 
My daughter's birthday is coming up and I thought it would be cute to have Annie and Itchy-ba (her dog) on the card. Still haven't decided what to put inside. 
I'm also going to make a get well card for a friend in the hospital.
