Gluten Free Pizza

Since I have gluten issues, I do most all my cooking at home. There is one pizza place that makes a gluten free pizza but the timing from crispy to burned is very short. After having so many burned pizzas, I gave up ordering them to go. I've tried making my own crust but the amount of cheese you have to use to hold everything together is heart stopping.
Trader Joe's now has 3 different types of gluten free crusts.
Butter Nut Squash, Cauliflower and Broccoli and Kale
So far I've tried the butter nut squash one. It was just OK, more corn meal than squash. I'm going to use goat cheese on the next one to mask the corn meal taste. Wish me luck!

FabMo Papercrafters - October 19, 2019 - evening class

There is a day change to my Papercrafters group this month. Since I'm hosting the UFO night on Saturday night, I decided to combine both UFO and Papercrafters.
My October schedule is a little hectic because there's some vacations time scheduled but I didn't know exact dates.
I know a lot of the ladies don't like to drive at night so the class will be small, but it was the only time I could squeeze everything in.
Simple fall cards using watercolor scraps I have stashed away. I'm also trying to get more comfortable with the splatter technique. I really do have to get a splatter box because now I have gold spots all over my work desk!

Walnut - too funny 2019

I am a big fan of all things walnuts. Cooking, baking and furniture. When I first saw this super sized walnut at the thrift store, I really wanted to get it but I was trying to get things that would fit into my booth at Cottage Crafts. I decided if it was still there on my next visit, I would bring it home. Now I to decide what to store inside as I look for the little hammer that fits into the little hole in the front. It will at some point go into my booth when a space opens up but for now it's home is with me.

Tuesday Morning Finds.

Last year a friend gave me boxes of the letters that go into this type of bulletin board. I finally found a size that would work at Tuesday Morning. I try and stop by TM when I see something on the You Tubers videos that looks interesting. Both stores here are 25 minutes away and tons of crafting ladies like shopping there. If I can't get there when they open, it's been picked over so not worth the drive.
Made this fox card from stamps I found last month at TM. The stamps aren't the best quality so you do have to use a stamp positioner.  This will be a card I'll be teaching at FabMo on Sunday.

Hero Arts - Eat Cake All Day - turned Halloween.

I made the mistake of getting a wireless keyboard awhile back. It works when it feels like it which isn't all that often. I don't type that fast but it just couldn't or wouldn't keep up. Took hours to post anything. Finally went back to getting one that plugs in to my hard drive. Hopefully I will be able to post more on my blog. Not that I think many people read it. :)
I've been wanting a monster stamp to make Halloween cards and found the Hero Arts "Eat Cake All Day" set on sale at Joann's Fabric. I changed it up to fit the theme I wanted.

Part time picker

I don't remember when I started junking but I've been doing it for a long long time. I usually stay away from the Goodwill stores because they price things way too high and there are a lot of pickers in my area. Very hard to find anything good.  Since I was close to a Goodwill store on my way to meet friends for dinner, I decided to stop in. I only had 15 minutes to power shop through the store.
When I picked up this piggy bank a second time, another picker said "that's the second time you've looked at it, you know you want it". :)
The plate was an impulse buy but I thought it would add a little something to my booth at Cranberry Hill.

Day of the Dead Card 2019

I was inspired by a card made by Michael Strong. In one of my Tuesday Morning hauls, I picked up some Jolee's skulls and gold paper.
I also have to give a shout out to Amy R of Prairie Paper and Ink for encouraging card makers to use spatter on their cards.
I really to have to make a spatter box because now I have gold and white spots every where. :)

Lady Bugs 2019

When I'm home my front door is always open so Annie can come and go. I do have a magnetic screen but there's always something flying around my lights.
Tonight I was finishing up some cards (beaded ladybugs) to send off to a friend's charity card rack when I saw I had a real one on my desk. This is the first time I've seen on here let alone in my studio! Guessing this is a good sign - right?

S.F Theme Card 2019

I really liked this  embossing folder and wanted to make a S.F. painted lady house card. Being that it's an embossing folding I couldn't get the color where I wanted it, so I reworked my original idea. I added twinkling H2O water color to the windows and ran distress black ink over the top.
S.F. is a very dirty big city but it has a lot of character. I think this card represents that feeling.
Embossing folder and stamp came from Tuesday Morning last week. Working on trying to use whatever I get at TM the week I get it. :)

Tuesday Morning

I'm a big fan of Tuesday Morning's craft section.
Since I don't have to use the newest products for my workshops, it's great to get cool stamps and supplies that don't break the bank.
I do try and use everything I buy in the week I purchase it. I try and design a card that will work in my monthly workshop classes for FabMo or for my card rack at Cranberry Hill in Sunnyvale. I've been wanting a coffee theme stamp set to design a invitation for an upcoming bridal shower.

Pepper for Breakfast 2019

Annie ( my German Shepherd) loves bacon so every morning we have breakfast together. Bacon, eggs and what ever veggies I have in around the kitchen. Made peppers this morning for me, not Annie and it was a nice side dish with the eggs. The fancy salt is a favorite of my daughter and I only use it on special dishes. Never realized until several years ago that the type of salt you use makes such a big difference. Guess all the food show I watch are finally kicking in. :)

Blueberries

I just love NextDoor! I went to pick up an patio umbrella because I wanted the stand. The umbrella it's self was missing the lower half, so I'm guessing that's why everyone else passed on it. While I was there I told the owner I was going to use the umbrella to shade my garden. I go through a lot of umbrellas becasue I never know when the high winds will come ripping down the hill and through my yard. I've had many take flight down the hill and break.
She asked if I would like her blueberry plants, since she couldn't take them when she moves.
I'm so excited to add something new to my garden!
