Gipsy Kings

Just got home from the Mountain Winery in Saratoga were the Gipsy Kings performed. It was a great toe tapping - maybe I shouldn't say toe tapping ;) night with everyone dancing in their seats. We had great seats with a view of the whole stage and the weather was perfect. I always have the Gipsy Kings playing in the background when I'm designing for class. I don't understand a single word they are singing, but I love the sound.

Hero Arts Class in the Works

I'm currenting working on getting another marathon class ready using Hero Arts Clear Design stamps. It will be either "Many Blessings" (shown in the photo) or the "Wintertime Message" set.

It's been a long road for me to get use to designing with "clings". I have a terrible time losing them on my work table as the pile of paper gets higher and higher. I'm hoping that some day a micro chip with be in each stamp so all you have to do it point a scan gun at the pile to make it beep. They can do it for our pets, why not our stamps?

Card Swap

These are the cards I made for my card group (The Cornflakes) swap last week.

Since these are really quick cards to make, I made a set of four for everyone in the group. Penny Black stamp and Marvy Matchables pens.

Alley Cats Vintage Treasures

Alley Cats Vintage Treasures started with my search for unusual ephemera (fancy word for old paper souvenir items and other found objects) for my scrapbooks and altered art projects.

Unhappy with what I could find at the local thrift shops, I started haunting auction houses. Having to buy things by the “lot” (everything that is thrown in one box) I was dragging home a large amount of interesting things, just to get a collection of vintage brass letters or old postcards. Digging through lot after dirty lot, hoping to find that one treasure has become sort of a scavenger hunt addiction.

I’ve now branched out and look for treasures for other artists and collectors who don’t have the time to sit through an entire auction. I have consignment booths at Cranberry Hill Mercantile in Sunnyvale and Cottage Crafts Boutique in San Jose.
