Going through my stash and decided to use some embossing folders that haven't seen daylight in several years! It's a simple card using melted pony beads a tip I found on Pinterest. I think I will save this card for my class down at the senior center next month.
I've been taking classes silver clay classes through my crafting Meetup group. It's fun but very $$$. For this class we learned to make molds from found objects to form our silver clay. I plan to turn these into necklaces at some point or when my skill level gets a little better. :)
Card challenge. I have a senior (at work) who buys stamps but doesn't know what to do with them. This stamp wasn't the easiest one for a beginner to work with. It was a challenge for me to design something she could make in class.
I have a two card classes coming up this week. One on Wednesday for the seniors at work and one for my Meet Up group. I had this bag of pony beads (don't know where they came from) and saw on Pinterest you could melt them down to make faux enamel dots. Not everything you see online really works but this project did. I made a super simple card (for the seniors) using the dots.
Finally one of the 600 daffodils popped up. I was getting worried the gophers, who don't like daffodils had gotten to them anyways. I have two orchid plants from my parents house. These have to be very hearty plants because the last storm knock everything over. There was break in the rain today for Annie to get some play time in. Beautiful rainbow at the end of the driveway.
I will be doing a Wonderful Washi class on Feburary 15, 2015 from noon - 2:00. pm. Class fee is $20.00 and all you have to bring is your favorite dry adhesive to class. If your interested please email me for the location or any questions.
Flat Fish Paper Arts was born many years ago when blogging first started. My family did a lot of camping and diving along the California coast. California halibut are huge fish that start out as any normal fish. As they age, one eye will start to move to the other side and the halibut will become flat so it can lay on the bottom of the ocean with both eyes facing up.
I always like the idea that we all start out the same but life experiences slowly changes us. In my case, my creative talents went the way of paper arts. Flatfish are always looking up when they mature and as with any artist, we see inspiration in everything around us - always looking up.

Years ago a local dive shop had a photo of a diver who caught a halibut so big he had to throw it over his jeep to take the picture. Our little spoof with our daughter sitting in her toy jeep with dad's halibut on the hood. 1987
